What Life is All About 1/3

After serving in Viet Nam for a year, Pete, Bob, and Ray returned back home. Pete has found out what life is all about, and writes the following letter...

Elmo: The Dog that Licked My Sores 1/2

I made Baby Elmo at home with a bowl of water and some dried dog food. He wasn’t crying any longer. What a wonderful little pup he was, and he was my little buddy.

Fake News is Here to Stay

Fake news! Fake news!  Fake news!  That's all I'm hearing about to day.  Well, the truth is, fake news is here to stay, folks, and it’s been here from the beginning.

I Remember Emil Pearson a Missionary to Angola

Anyway, Uncle Emil Pearson, a 10-year-old when he came from Sweden (bottom left in the photo), and Aunt Daisy, born in England, were missionaries in Angola for 46 years and were my handy spiritual references before I knew the Lord.

I Remember Mary Jameson

One day after a service, she took a dollar bill out of her purse to give me. Out of polite reflex, I declined but even as a new Christian I knew that the Lord had put it upon her heart, and she was going to get the greater blessing. So I took it.

I Remember George Gaines

Many years before, he had been ordained in a denominational church, but I don't believe he ever was on anyone’s payroll.  He was footloose and fancy free without having to worry about pleasing a board of directors or a congregation that hired him.

I Remember Brother Brodhead

In spite of his physical limitations, Brother Brodhead kept busy at the church from time to time with serious and humorous chalk drawings on large sheets of art paper.  He also customized his drawings for the group’s age; and afterward, he’d sit down, put the cushion behind his head, read the Bible, and give a corresponding message.

I Remember Eddie Anderson

Eddie Anderson was the volunteer minister of visitation at the church I attended for several years.  No wonder he had the job.  He was kind and engaging and in his 70’s.

Bill and Hillary Clinton: The Purple Gang

Bill and Hillary Clinton wearing purple is not a fad. It is satanic symbolism being conveyed. Trump ain't the Pres. yet. It ain't over 'til it's over.

Mark 15:17-20
17 And they clothed him with purple, and platted a crown of thorns, and put it about his head,
18 And began to salute him, Hail, King of the Jews!
19 And they smote him on the head with a reed, and did spit upon him, and bowing their knees worshipped him.
20 And when they had mocked him, they took off the purple from him, and put his own clothes on him, and led him out to crucify him.

Revelation 17:3-5
3 So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.
4 And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:
5 And upon her forehead was a name written, Mystery, Babylon The Great, The Mother Of Harlots And Abominations Of The Earth.

Revelation 18:15-18
15 The merchants of these things, which were made rich by her, shall stand afar off for the fear of her torment, weeping and wailing,
16 And saying, Alas, alas that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls!
17 For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off,
18 And cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What city is like unto this great city!

Confessing to Priests Led to Suicide

Judas Iscariot confessed his sin to the priests but it did no good - so he hung himself.

Matthew 27:1-5
When the morning was come, all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death:
2 And when they had bound him, they led him away, and delivered him to Pontius Pilate the governor.
3 Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,
4 Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? see thou to that.
5 And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself.

Judas realized he made a mistake (sinned) and “repented himself.” He turned from his wicked sin and tried to undo it by confessing to the priests and elders…
Giving back the ill gotten gain
We may feel guilty about something and try make up for our sin. Adultery, Abortion
Punish ourselves mentally or physically
Not forgive ourselves because its “unforgiveable.”
Confess our sin to a priest, fiend, police, government, spouse, our mommy –they cannot give us absolution or true forgiveness of sins.
Judas was riddled with guilt that he could not get rid of it.

It is a supernatural condition for us to have our sins forgiven by God and no one else or no work can give us the peace that passes all understanding. We need the supernatural power of God to forgive and forget our sins
How we can forgive ourselves?

John 1:14-17
14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
15 John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.
16 And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.
17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

Judas repented himself and went to the priests – the chief priests and elders and found no peace, but they did take the money, the indulgence, and did with it what they would – for their PR.
We are to repent and turn to God...

Acts 10:43
43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.
1. release from bondage or imprisonment
2. forgiveness or pardon, of sins (letting them go as if they had never been committed), remission of the penalty

Isaiah 43: 25
I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.

Hebrews 8:12
12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
God will forgive and forget your sins if you ask him. Your wife may no but he will.
Infinitely separated from us…

Psalm 103:12
12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.
